Exploring New South Wales’s northern coast with Roady and Reflections
)
Heading to New South Wales over the summer break? If you’re an out-of-towner – like our Kiwi mates from Roady – there’s a good chance you’re yet to experience the joys of Reflections, New South Wales’s largest holiday-park operator.
Roscoe – Roady’s founder and managing director – recently spent a week road-tripping from Sydney to Coffs Harbour and back, staying at a bunch of Reflections’ parks along the way. Here, he’s put together a few of his favourite spots, as well as some hot tips for anyone fortunate enough to snag a site over the summer.

Moonee Beach Holiday Park
With an epic little coffee cart out front of the park, which is right by the water, there’s no prizes for guessing why Moonee Beach made the list of favourites for Roscoe. He reckons it’s a great spot to base yourself while visiting Bellinger River or Dorrigo national parks, but if you do feel like staying closer to home, you’ll love the park’s laidback vibes and proximity to the beach. It’s also dog-friendly and has canoes and stand-up paddleboards for hire.

Jimmys Beach Holiday Park
Jimmys Beach ticks all the boxes. You’ve got a beautiful powered sites area with lots of trees and green space; a one-minute walk to Jimmys Beach or a short drive to Bennetts Beach; and the option to walk up Mount Yacaaba for unbeatable views of Hawks Nest and Myall Lakes. Oh, and the park’s pool area, which wouldn’t look out of place at a five-star resort, is a very cool place to hang out.

Urunga Holiday Park
Set right on the water, where the river meets the ocean, Urunga Reflections is a must-visit stop for anyone after a dose of Vitamin Sea. Roscoe loved swimming out front and jumping off the jetty into the lagoon, though Hungry Heads Beach – with 100 practicing Nippers – was also a highlight. It’s a quick drive to the folksy town of Bellingen too, so don’t be afraid to point your van west and head inland.

Seal Rocks Holiday Park
There are plenty of reasons why Seal Rocks is such a celebrated holiday spot; the surf is excellent, the beaches are beautiful and the SCUBA diving is world-class, to name a few. Roscoe recommends taking a walk to Sugarloaf Point Lighthouse and visiting Blueys Beach, the latter being just 25 minutes from Seal Rocks Reflections. The holiday park itself has beach access and an amazing kitchen and common area looking over the water, so we won’t judge you if it’s too much effort to even leave the park.
